We're about halfway between the fall equinox and winter solstice. This marks the end of harvest season and the beginning of winter, or the "dark half" of the year. The ancient Celts celebrated this time with a great festival called Samhain. Traditionally, Samhain marked the beginning of the new year and was a time to take stock of the herds and food supplies.
We spent this past week harvesting the last of our lettuce, arugula, bok choy, peppers, and kale from the field. We've taken inventory of all of our storage crops, and we're prepared to begin Winter Shares this week. We've got so much good food planned for your CSA boxes over the next eight weeks. We're so happy you've joined us for the winter!
