If there's one type of food that goes with nearly all other foods, Alliums must be it- onions and garlic are at the base of just about every delicious meal. In our kitchen, when I'm at a loss for what to cook, I instinctively reach for an onion and a few garlic cloves to get started and then figure the rest out from there. I've been doing a little happy dance in the kitchen this week because we have freshly harvested Root 5 Farm onions and Mink Meadow Farm garlic together again!
We've been field curing our onions, so when the sun came out on Wednesday we jumped on the opportunity to trim and box up our onions. We brought in almost two tons of onions and we're ready to celebrate, knowing we'll have this important staple food in storage for months to come!
We also have an abundance of beautiful green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, crisp lettuce mix, and hearty spinach for your shares this week. Peaches and blueberries round out our offerings for pure summer bliss. Enjoy!
