Despite the drought, beets are doing well at the farm with a little irrigation. Whether you enjoy them as a vegetable side dish, roasted and sliced in a salad, or pickled, beets add a burst of color and flavor to your meal.
We have plenty of beets on the farm stand this week, as well as a good supply of tomatoes. Red raspberries are still plentiful, too, although they’re beginning to wind down due to the dry weather. Also on the farm stand: arugula, garlic, kale, sweet and poblano peppers, romaine, a few fresh herbs and flowers. Plus farm eggs and grassfed beef, our own strawberry, raspberry and blueberry jam, and local honey.
