Have I mentioned how much I love cooking this time of year?
We've got lots of great summer to fall options for you to whip up some cozy flavorful food this week. On the farm we're relishing the flavors of tomatoes and peppers especially while they last. In fact, at the moment I'm roasting up some poblanos to skin and freeze for winter I love the flavor and mild heat of poblanos, but I love it even more in winter when I can only have it if I've prepared well!
In boxes this week you'll find your weekly greens and roots (salad turnips are back in for fall!), as well as options for summer flavors including sweet italian and poblano peppers as well as tomatoes. We've also got basil and cilantro available for some herby goodness. I'm seeing Latin or Italian food in your future here, just choose your direction!
I'll leave you all here, because I've got to get back to my poblanos, and start prepping for dinner this evening. I'm making a new recipe from my gal Andrea Bemis tonight which I'll share here because I think you could spin it a lot of delicious ways: it's her BAKED RICE WITH SLOW ROASTED TOMATOES & FETA LAMB MEATBALLS. I'm definitely throwing some sweet peppers in there as well, and perhaps making some yogurt sauce and roasting some carrots. You could add or subtract so many things here, but baked rice... what a great set it and forget it meal idea, just make it your own!
