We're so happy to finally have our favorite and long awaited summer fruits... both are sweet, but one is sweeter-- Sweet Italian Peppers and Strawberries!
Due to the cold spring, we totally missed our early strawberry harvest. It went from too cold for plants to flower, to too hot for plants to flower too fast. But now, we'll have them until it frosts, and same with those sweet peppers.
Sweet Italian peppers are my favorite, and on our farm we've struggled to get peppers to establish and produce well, but this year we figured it out, so lots of italians, and soon, bells are in store! Use sweet italian peppers any way you'd use a bell pepper-- they have thinner walls, but are sweeter than a bell, especially when cooked (although they're great for dipping too).
Which... brings me to my next note: Dip Night! We sent out an email earlier this week letting you know that we're hosting a Dip Night Potluck on September 2nd, so if you missed it, go check! You can also go here to see more info and let us know if you plan to attend, we hope to see you there, and share some great food with you.
We've got a great box for you this week, and we've even got some bulk pickling cucumbers available in case you need to make a batch of pickles for fall and winter! These are available in 5lb bags for $15. If they sell out, no worries, we'll have more soon, or feel free to email Ashley to arrange a custom order.
Best!
