I am so happy to say it's officially tomato time at Sungrounded Farm. With the warmer weather our tomatoes are finally ripening quickly and we're excited to offer tomatoes as a mainstay this week! We even have some Basil available (though we don't quite have enough for everyone-- more will be coming very soon.
We've also got some great new flavors for you this week. Napa Cabbage is available and we hope that you'll enjoy this delicious seasonal cabbage. Our favorite ways to eat it include stir fries and asian salads, and we have a great Thai Cabbage Slaw recipe on our website that was shared with us by one of our lovely CSA members. It's super flexible and you can feel free to substitute in whatever crunchy veg you have on hand, but so many of these items are available for boxes this week it's pretty perfect! (If you don't get around to eating the Napa this week, there might even be peas coming your way next week to complete your slaw...)
We've also got the first fennel of the season this week. Fennel is a veggie that was pretty foreign to us until we started farming but now we're completely in love. It's so bright and crunchy, it really adds the perfect touch when thinly sliced on a salad, grilled, or in this other favorite recipe of ours-- Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder with Fennel.
Eat well this week,
Ashley, Caleb and the Sungrounded Crew
