Just a reminder that this week's share delivery falls on the Fourth of July. Feel free to skip your share if you are unable to pick up due to festivities, but if you can make it we've got a great one for you this week.
Cucumbers are making their summer debut this week, along with Sweet Walla Walla Onions. These onions are great for eating fresh or caramelizing.
We've got another flight of tomatoes coming for you while our early tomatoes are in full production.
We've also got (maybe the last?) snap peas of the season -- all the juicy crunch that we can bring you for this toasty week we have coming. We'd love to sling some more peas your way the next week if we can, but they really don't like the heat so we'll have to see how they're doing. Eat up now just in case!
Spinach is also coming to an end until fall and I'd say it's a great time to enjoy a Strawberry Spinach Salad if you pop over to a Farmstand and get some sweet fresh strawberries.
This week we've got an option (or take both!) of Gold or Chioggia (with bullseye centers) Beets, so I've got to send you my favorite way to eat them-- roasted with a fresh salad, with goat cheese. Here's a great recipe from Love and Lemons.
That's all I have for you for now. Happy fourth of July, I hope it's filled with good folks and good food,
Ashley, Caleb and the Sungrounded Crew
