The farm happenings is back. We have been to busy to get it out, please forgive me! A couple weeks ago I saw that the EWG put out the new list of the ‘dirty dozen’. These are 12 produce items that round out the items that have the most variety of chemicals found on them at the eating stage. That means, after you wash the items, they still have a substantial chemical load. The kale, collards, and mustard category found many pesticides, some of which aren’t even allowed to be used. If you check out the dirty dozen list you will see that we grow many of these items organically, including potatoes which are no longer on the list this year. The potato crop is looking excellent and we should be able to offer them in more quantity than in years past. Also, I know that we haven’t gotten green beans on the list for you folks yet, but we have a second patch that is coming along beautifully and have a smaller weedy patch that we should be able to get into inventory before the weekend is done. So, rest assured that when you buy from us, it’s always organic and ready to eat!
Please continue to return your boxes and let us know if you have any questions, concerns, missing items, or just happy feedback.
