Fall Crops

Posted on September 19th, 2024 by Shelli and Paul Meulemans

I was hoping to have sweet corn for all of you this week, but it appears as though the drought destroyed the final crop. There are definitely things that are thankful for the dry weather. It has been great for squash and potatoes this season, it makes harvest easy and storage on squash much better. With fall coming up, we have both large pumpkins and smaller “pie” pumpkins available. The pie pumpkins can be cooked and enjoyed as a pie or custard, or they can be used as decoration.

We are bringing in more apples from third leaf farm this coming week. More honey crisp, and my personal favorite, Golden Delicious! I was at the farm with Kyle, the owner up there and we got to taste many different varieties. Anyway, these apples are the best you can get!
