Farm Happenings for June 5, 2019

Posted on May 30th, 2019 by Lorien Carsey

We had such a great time at our first CSA pick up meeting all our new members and seeing our returning members again.

Some things we should clarify for the next pick up:

Please place your clips in your black box so we can continue to reuse them. With regards to your order sheets, we are happy to recycle them or you can take them and recycle them.

Lincoln Square Mall Pick up: Please help your self to the boxes on the carts. Liza will be there to help you find your box. You will see a highlight on your name if you have add-on shares to pick up that week. Your add on shares will be on the back of the truck. Please cross your name off the list when you grab your add on shares. If you miss your pick up, please email us bluemoonfarmurbana@gmail.com to arrange for an alternate pick up.

Faith United Methodist Church Pick Up: Please give your name to the person on the truck and bring your black crate to the table to unload your items. If you have an add on share that week, your name will be highlighted on your sheet. The add-on shares will be on the table. Please pick up your add on shares at the table and cross your name off the list on the clipboard.

There was some confusion regarding bi-weekly share and when your pick up date is. If you log into your Harvie account, and click on my deliveries you can see when your delivery is and what you will be getting each week.

We also found out that when we start working on our delivery for the next week, it locks the ability for you to change your share until we are done editing. We will try and keep our editing to Thursdays so you will have more time to reschedule your shares if need be.

Ok! Now for the fun stuff!

This week we are noticing a few more crops popping up. We have added kohlrabi, broccoli, hakurei turnips, bok choy and collards. This week we will have 6 dozen eggs up in our extras so if you didn't get an egg share but want eggs you can choose to add them. We are dodging the raindrops and have been very fortunate that the severe storms haven't impacted our farm. We are keeping a close eye on our greenhouse tomatoes and we think we may expect them by the end of June. Until then, we will have beets, basil, garlic scapes  coming up in the near future.
