We got our garlic all harvested (along with an impromptu wagon ride)! With the heavy rain coming last week we wanted to get the garlic out before the outer wrapper layers got too soaked. The crop looks nice although definitely smaller heads overall than last year. It is drying in our coverall and barn loft but we've started offering it in it's "green" stage now. Nothing too different, just doesn't store as long unless it dries out a bit.
The rain was definitely welcome last week even though it came very hard with a bit of hail too. The damage wasn't too great though and our crops and weeds are definitely responding well to the heat and water! This week we have carrot bunches again and next week we'll have them in large quantities. Potatoes and beans are on offer again and we are looking at our first harvest of field tomatoes and possibly melons next week!
Just a reminder to everyone, we are hoping to sign up more members to share in the bounty that comes with our August to December harvests. If you know friends / family that would be interested don't forget we offer a $25 signup bonus to both existing member and new member with referrals!
