Happy Thanksgiving!
This morning saw the first frost of the fall season, while it marks the end (or near-end) of many of our hot-weather crops, it also dramatically improves the flavour of the cool season crops including cabbages, kale, carrots, turnips, and winter radishes. Lots of new veggies are available this week: purple daikon and watermelon radish are finally back, several types of choi (perfect steamed or stir-fried), purple-top turnips. We also have lots of thanksgiving favourites available: squashes, potatoes, carrots, and fresh herbs.
While pears are winding down we have continue to have a wide variety of apples available from our friends at Great Lakes Farms with organic options from Pfennings.
We are very grateful for your support. Many thanks from all of us at Common Ground Farm.
