Well, as shelter in place continues... Spring is upon us. Most of the bunching greens have now bolted, but we have lots and lots of beautiful Tokyo turnips and baby greens. Last week's strawberries were wiped out by those rains and this week isn't looking too much better (lots of drizzle and fog that lead to wet berries.. and therefore rotting and water damage). We will send all 260 or you what we've got, but my guess is it'll be about 5 flats. Cross your fingers for some sunny weather! As what we have to harvest gets slimmer it looks like we will need to cancel more farmers markets to keep your boxes full. Just a forewarning in case you double up and shop at markets as well.
BOX MISTAKES!! We are all still learning how to implement this new system and mistakes are being made... With each mistake comes learning ways we can keep those mistakes from happening again. Please be patient with us, but also let us know if you are missing something you ordered. We can easily credit you missing items.
When you pick up your box, cross check your label and what's in the box. If there's something wrong, snap a picture and e-mail it to us. We are color coding which person packed each box trying to see if maybe certain people should be washing crates instead of packing boxes ;) )
Looking for something interesting to do with your kids? We just tried a fun little craft project that takes almost no prep or materials. Go find some leaves and flower, variety is good for experimenting. Arrange between a two sheets of paper of a paper folded in half. Get a hammer and gently hammer the paper and see what sort of color and prints you can make. Was pretty fun and kept our 3 and 5 year old occupied for half an hour (which is a lot of preschoolers).
