Pictured above: Charlie and Ellie applaud in delight as Eloy pulls lettuce off of our Amish made (yep.. Amish) conveyor vegetable washer. To see a video check out our Instagram feed or Facebook page. Will post it shortly.
First round of potatoes is ready to harvest. Cross your fingers... we're going to try to do it this week.. but the harvester still has some welding repairs that need finishing, so I'm going to hold off putting them in the box till next week.
Hope you figured out a way to mark the Holiday weekend. We had a little Stay-cation (had to cancel both our Spring camping trip and summer vacation to visit family) and camped out in the Back 40 Field. Kids had a fabulous time seeing the sunrise over the dewy winter squash field.
Updates on upcoming crops: Here is the current state of the earliest tomatoes (Sungold Cherry tomatoes) beautiful green sets.. but no color yet. Cukes on the other hand, and green beans are crankin'! The earliest apple variety "Pristine" is about the size of my five year old's fist.. and getting bigger by the day. It isn't unheard of that we have some Pristine apples ready in July.
