Good Morning!
The killer frost Saturday Morning completely changed our schedule and menu.. The lettuce and spinach survived, but other than the kales and brussels sprouts, if it was outside, it's pretty much done. Of particular note, the sweet potato vines are now black. This is important because that frost will travel right down to the tubers, and decay almost immediately, so whatever my schedule planned, I guess I am digging Sweet potatoes today!
I had a crop failure with the Baby Lettuce during the very hot spell in mid August. The replacement plantings are doing well, and we should be offering salad mixes in a couple more weeks.
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Alllen Street Farmers Market after that. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are in Grand Ledge for the Market on the Grand, 9:00-1:00. I'll be leaving the market as close to 1:00 as possible because we are scheduled to "pull" new plastic on "B" house!
Please see the attached menu for this week, and let me know if I can help. I hope to see you soon!
Thank you,
