Winter maintenance is mainly dictated by the weather. With the short warm up we will be very busy winterizing the infrastructure that we missed, and completing the repairs needed before seeding the flats for Spring Customers. We'll start with Onions and Spinach January 20, about 5 weeks from today!
We are in good shape with the seed starts. The incubator is full, mainly herbs and some cold weather greens like Swiss Chard and Spinach as well as Scallions for March/ April. I will transplant the last bed of Baby Lettuce this week into a high tunnel, and we are done with Transplants until about the third week in February!
This Wednesday I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids at 12:00 noon and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. This week I will be attending and inside the Market! Saturday I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge 11:00-12:00 noon. Scheduled home deliveries are early Saturday afternoon, and looking ahead, I plan to be open all Saturdays during the Holiday Season! I hope to see you soon!
