Today we are down to 9:04 (no growth) minutes of daylight, and the overnight temps are well below freezing. I have about 3-4 weeks to prepare for Spring planting! Lauren has final exams all week, but Alanna is back from her first (very successful!) semester to help in December, and Jan will be chipping in with her usual great work. I have a new heater being installed in the nursery, and we are almost ready to go.
Looking ahead to the holidays, we will be doing normal deliveries on Wednesdays, 12/23 &12/30. Thursdays we'll honor normal afternoon farm pick ups, and Saturday delivery will be normal in Grand Ledge. It's my policy not to sell cut greens and salad mixes more than 1-2 days old, so I'll concentrate more on heads, such as Romaine, Boston Lettuce, and maybe Escarole, if it's ready. In addition,I plan to have winter Microgreens available
The Salad Mixes and Spinach products take a lot of time and preparation to produce, so I need to compensate somewhere. My dear wife (and CEO) said we are not working on Christmas or New Years Day!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and later in the Tannin Italian Restaurant parking lot, Michigan Ave. at Shepard Street in Lansing 4:30-5:30 after that. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I am in the parking lot behind the Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge, 11:00-12:00 noon. Please see the attached menu for what we offer this week and let me know if I can help. Stay safe, and I hope to see you soon!
Thank you,
