What great Spring like weather! I note in my journal that we lost almost half of our tomato plants in the hoop house during the 3rd week of April in 2018, so don't let Mother Nature fool you! In order to accommodate some of you early birds we will feature more mature tender plants in larger pots in early May. We normally have Tomatoes in June and now you can too!
We have our Ginger and Turmeric tested in Hawaii for disease before accepting shipment, because I can't/ won't use chemicals to cure an infected crop. Sometimes we don't get our herbs, but this year everything is clean. Because of demand last year I ordered extra, we received it, and Friday, Lauren and I planted the whole crop!
This week I am at Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Later, I will be at the Allen Street indoor Market from 3:00-6:00 at the corner of Shepard Street and Kalamazoo for CSA pick up and over the counter sales, also on Wednesday. If you have an issue with this change please contact me. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday in am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge, 11:00-12:00 noon.
I note that traffic has picked up at the Tannin Italian Restaurant and I am grateful they allowed us to use their parking lot for distributions during the past winter months. They serve terrific food and I wish them well. Congratulations for surviving this very difficult year!
Please see the attached menu for Wednesday/ Thursday CSA and the Alllen Street Farmers Market. Thank you,
