Good Morning!
Almost by accident, I have learned that some cool weather crops actually grow faster and are less prone to disease than the traditional unheated hoop house with row cover protection. This would allow me to offer more diversity and volume during the difficult months December through mid March.
My goal is to prepare our "C" house, 2,880 square feet, for year round heating! This will be an expensive undertaking, and I will outline how I plan to pay for it next week.
Mid day this Tuesday, I am scheduled for my second COVID-19 vaccination. I am pretty healthy and don't expect any side effects, and proceed with harvest plans and attending the Allen Street Market the following day. If I do have issues, I should know by Tuesday night if we need to change plans. Please stand by!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street indoor Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery, 11:00-12:00 noon.
