Hello!
Everyone is still looking for meaningful rainfall, and seldom do we get a drought in May around here! When we built the first high tunnels. the decision for water was drip irrigation, We became pretty good at installation and maintenance. Even as some trends are back to overhead sprinklers, we still rely on drip method in the interests of food safety, and reliability.
Just as we cannot rely on a steady, even weather and rain calendar, it's been a natural progression to extend the irrigation system to the outdoor growing areas, and now we are about 90% drought proof. Now with advances in organic liquid fertilizers, I can custom "nourish" each crop according to it's needs, as well as steady hydration!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market on the corner of Fairview and Michigan Avenue from 3:00 - 6:00 after that. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are at the Market on the Grand at JC Park in Grand Ledge from 9:00 - 1:00 P.M. I hope to see you soon!
Note: Just today we took delivery of two new bee hives from a very special friend and bee keeper. The bees aren't very happy right now, but tomorrow the will discover all of those strawberry blossoms and everybody is in business!
Thank you,
