I am a little behind this week. This mild weather weekend caught us all off guard!
Our bee hives are located near the road and are very visible to passing cars. Our Beekeeper, Maggie, took the day to harvest the last of this year's honey, with two helpers, all dressed head to toe in protective beekeeper suits. And the bees were ANGRY! What a sight to see, as several passersby slowed down to witness the activity in process! The scout bees harassed me all day, and Maggie said they won't settle down for a couple more days.
The Autumn transplanting is going well, and we should be able to harvest more leafy greens soon.
Later this week we will begin planting Garlic!
The outdoor Grand Ledge Farmers Markets ended Saturday, in beautiful weather, capping a very successful season. Beginning this coming Saturday, October 16, I will deliver pre ordered requests and CSA Member Boxes weekly to the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery (and Dominos Pizza) on Saturday from 11:00 - 12:00 noon. This one hour window will become important as the inclement weather moves in.
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that with new hours, 3:00 - 6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and as I mentioned I am in Grand dLedge on Saturday, 11:00 - 12:00 noon. Please see the attached menu and let me know if I can help, and I hope to see you soon!
Thank you,
