The current cold blast ushers a blunt dose of reality, and reminds us to speed up the Autumn clean up, and prepare for the Winter repairs schedule. We are still transplanting a few of the cool weather favorites and prepping for overwintered Onions for the late April/ early May Spring surprise fresh crop! With Spring in mind, note that we are under 10 hours of daylight at 9 hours and 49 minutes, and anything that we plant yet this month won't be ready until late March to mid April. That's okay, because by mid March people are screaming for Greens! The calendar will say it is Spring, but it sure won't feel like it!
There is a timing glitch during the upcoming holiday season that means the sign up and auto renew doesn't actualize until the week of January 8. Winter sign up begins December 1, 2022 Auto renew begins January 3. I'll be working to keep the Fresh Produce coming, and a lot more on this later.
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon,and the Allen Street Indoor Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery, 11:00-12:00 noon.
