With the shorter days comes shorter harvest windows and the greenhouses closed up by 5:00, especially on cloudy days. The basement grow room comes to life, and the growing schedules completely change. The weekend after Thanksgiving marks the initial planning for the growing season 2024!
In between crop planning and seed research, I finally can begin my winter reading, as my body begins to heal and renew for another great season. Finally, I need to schedule some recovery time for the coming repair surgery in December. Soon comes January, and I will submit to my addiction to growing great food!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00 PM. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up and scheduled home deliveries. Saturday morning I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery for Grand Ledge deliveries, 11:00-12:00 noon. We will be open Thanksgiving week, and the greens offerings will taper until after next week. I hope to see you soon!
