I plan to attend the Allen Street Farmers Market on Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, and distribution orders for delivery Wednesday and Saturday this week. I will have fresh Carrots yet unearthed and Lettuces and Greens yet unpicked. We still follow the Food Safety guidelines that certified Hillcrest Farms even before the pandemic!
Fresh, Great Tasting, Nutritious, and Food Safety are not just empty words here, and every stopping point along the supply chain is a risk to all three contributions to the customer diet. As we convert to a new inventory online platform in 2025, I hope to expand our weekly menus and offer more than competitive pricing. Shipping food 2000 miles takes several days and a lot of expensive diesel fuel. Hillcrest Farms is one day and about 20 miles to your Table!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon and Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Saturday I am at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery 11:00-12:00 noon. Scheduled home deliveries are Saturday afternoon. Artisan Cheese is no longer available in 2024, and I will begin to process refund checks after this week. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
