CSA Week 10 - Peppers and tomatoes oh my.

View from the Tractor

The change in the weather has been such sweet relief. Cool mornings and reasonable days have helped us accomplish a lot around the farm. We are also happier even if we are still really darn tired. Over the last week we have planted our fall Napa cabbages, radicchios and bunching greens while also harvesting like mad to keep up with the rate of ripening. We have so many tomatoes and peppers coming in from the fields this week, I am dreaming of salsa.

We have said goodbye to more staff this week including Monserrat and next week, Ariel. We have been blessed to have worked with some amazing folks this season. While the staffing is feeling tight, we are doing or very best to keep up. Hopefully more reinforcements will show up so we can catfish the season on a strong note. We are still accepting volunteers as drop-ins throughout the rest of the season. Reach out to Asud at CSAmanager@kiltfarm.com for more information.

With gratitude,

The Farmers at Kilt Farm

Fruit Share

This week we will have bags of Glowhaven and Red Globe peaches. It looks like there will be very little fruit available for add ons if you do not have a fruit share. We will try to order additional fruit through the rest of the season.

Add Ons - 2024 Kilt Farm Honey

It is that time of year when the hives on our farm get harvested and processed. Starting with this week will have the 2024 honey going into the shares. It is always amazing to see what the honey tastes like from this seasons weather and flowers.  This is a liquid raw honey, not the creamed honey. We will keep the creamed honey available if anyone would like spreadable honey. Raw honey will solidify over time even if stored at room temperature.

Sauce Tomatoes

Now that we are deep in the tomato flow, we have flats of overripe tomatoes that are perfect for making your perfect tomato sauce. No better way to get a taste of summer in the dead of winter than cracking open your own jar of Kilt Farm tomato sauce. These flats will be delivered to your CSA pick up site or home delivery and will be labeled with your name.

15# Red Ripe Tomatoes - $30

Thank you so much for being a member of the farm. We can't do it with out you.
