Lush greens and growth abound here at the farm, which is cause for gratitude and joy! To the sun, we are thankful for the warmth and light that feeds the plants. To the river, we are thankful for the water that nourishes the roots in this dry time. To the humans on our crew, we are thankful for the hard work and good cheer that make this dance of farming function and thrive.
And now, lettuce talk about salads. Yes, this is the time for salads every day! Add some pizzaz to your salad game with this week's...Tips and Tricks:
- Dress it up! Whether you like to keep it simple with balsamic and oil, or easy with your store-bought favorite (we like Annie's Goddess dressing), or if you want to be adventurous and make your own, an awesome dressing can level up your lettuce to salad status.
- Make it pop! Add nuts, dried fruit, fresh herbs, fresh veggies, ferments, and seeds to bring texture, flavor and color to your salad! Our favorites are walnuts, chia seeds, dried cranberries, cucumber, NEW Beet Powerkraut, and fresh dill!
- Round it out. If you're a meat lover, add some ham for a tasty chef salad. If cheese is your deal, add some delicious crumbled feta or goat cheese.
