Wow! Its hot for May. Some crops are growing very well in the heat, but others are really feeling the record breaking temperatures. The ones that are suffering most are the crops that usually grow well in early spring- strawberries, lettuces, broccoli, cabbage, swiss chard, carrots. Fortunately we plant so many different crops that the hot weather will speed up the growing of the "summer veggies" like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, watermelons and cantaloupe!
