Lots of peppers are coming in now. Time to make all those yummy pepper recipes.
Lots of canning tomatoes now and pears are starting this week. Let me know if you

Lots of things ripening now. Just love this time of year. Now to find time
to jar a bunch of it up for winter!!!
The eggplant is coming on now and also the okra is loving this heat. Lots of
roma tomatoes also. Some peppers are starting to get big. Time to make

Farm Happenings for August 9, 2022
Loving this cooler weather and so are the plants. It isn't killing the
grasshoppers tho'. Picked our first box of tomatoes!!! So exciting!!!
The okra is also loving the heat!!! We are getting starfire peaches this
next week. They are so good.

The news this week is HEAT and grasshoppers!!! The hoppers are eating everything in sight!!!
All of my fall transplants are nothing but sticks!!! They ate all the new lettuce and cucumbers!!!

And Summer is here ready or not!!!! The veggies are loving the heat and growing fast!!!
Except for the GREENS, they said "enough". The spinach, and tatsoi all bolted and the peas
are about done. The chard needs a break for this week so it can get bigger.

About the farm
We are a small family farm in NE Oregon. We grow a large selection of vegetables, our own frozen beef, free range eggs, in addition to fruit, local honey and other items from local producers. Our gardens are on a southern slope which gives us excellent growing conditions. We irrigate with water from a spring and use a drip system which allows us to give the plants what they need and not waste any water. We do not use any chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. We do not knowingly plant any GMO seeds or plants.
