Asparagus and Rhubarb is available this week from Orchard Hill Farm and Mazak farm. Both are very local to us and we are happy we can use them to round out these early spring CSA shares. We have an abundance of our greenhouse japanese cucumbers and lots of our salad mix too this week. We are still waiting for our first outdoor planted crops to come, but next week we will have arugula and red radishes back on the menu. The very last of our 2021 storage crops are still with us and even though it's May our cabbage, purple daikon and celeriac is in amazing shape.
We continue to feel like we are just keeping up this time of year on the farm. We are planting tomatoes and zucchini in our unheated hoophouses this week as well as preparing and planting a lot of crops in the field including lettuce, perennial herbs, beets, celeriac and potatoes. We have a couple new people starting on the farm this week and we hope the added crew members will help us get ahead in this busy growing season!
