Finally picking some cherry tomatoes and they taste better than ever! Heirlooms and creoles are not far behind the cherries, we also have bell peppers and eggplant being harvested. It has been hot on the farm but the dry weather is a plus, planting more squash, cucs, and melons this week. Okra has made the harvest list as well, not a ton of it just yet but be on the lookout for some, both red and green. (yes I said red okra, it is actually burgundy but kinda turns back to green when cooked, I like to roast okra until it gets crispy with just olive oil/salt/pepper in the oven) We hope everyone enjoys the tomatoes, plenty more coming!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
