Squash and cucs are coming up good, they made it out better than my first planting of tomatoes with all this wind we have been getting. We will start harvesting Spring onions next week, although they are a bit later than usual, they look great and I can't wait to eat some! Green garlic is finally here! The warmer weather we had really made it jump. Looking like we are gonna have a frost over the weekend, hopefully the last one. I hope everyone had a great Mardi Gras, I can't believe it is March already. We got some new black plastic laid for all of our spring crops like tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, okra, and eggplant. About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
