We are finally picking a decent amount of cauliflower, seems like everything has been pushed back this year as far as timing goes. My guess is from the constant changes in weather because we have definitely been fluctuating from hot to cold and damp to dry more than a normal Fall/Winter season. Eve1 read more »

We have a rainy, wet start to the week with cooler temps on the way, thankfully its not bitter cold with the rain, that always makes it a bit harder to get out in the fields! We got all of our onion sets planted over Thanksgiving week, one thing I am thankful for is that these little guys don't mind a bit of frost and cold weather, because we also got our first freeze of the season! About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
