We have a rainy, wet start to the week with cooler temps on the way, thankfully its not bitter cold with the rain, that always makes it a bit harder to get out in the fields! We are expecting some Romanesco soon even with all the rain, hopefully the weather doesn't damage or slow the beautiful " Christmas Trees" down, my kids nickname for Romanesco! They do love to eat though, I usually just roast at 400 degrees with olive oil and, garlic, salt and pepper. One benefit from the rain is carrots get a good soak and it makes for easier downward growing, which I hope to also harvest some for your boxes soon. Stay dry out there!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
