We will start harvesting Spring onions next week, although they are a bit later than usual, they look great and I can't wait to eat some! This week we are also planting tomatoes, peppers, squash, and cucumbers on our fresh plastic, it has been muddy but we are getting them in the ground. Sweet corn has started to come in, I love this time of year because I have all the fixings for a crawfish boil. I love to put not only our onions, red potatoes, and corn in the boil, but also our green garlic, sweet potatoes, brussels, and turnips as well! Enjoy the nice spring weather while its here, we all know it will be HOT soon.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
