Cherry tomatoes are getting very close, hoping by next week they will be offered in the boxes! We did finally get some peaches in and they are awesome, still waiting on blueberries though. I hate to see some items go, but I love harvesting and getting new items in our offerings, I have missed peaches for sure. Another new item this week and also another favorite of mine, Shishito peppers! We got a few good rains over the few days but not too much to keep us from planting and harvesting. I am also working on trying to figure out a CSA members day in the Fall at the farm, where you all can come out and see our operation! We will keep yall informed on that as we move forward. About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
