We have some cauliflower that is just in time for Thanksgiving! Everything in the fields has kind of slowed down with the cloudy weather we have been dealing with, but the beautiful white heads of cauliflower have finally matured enough for us to pick. I feel like everything has been a lil later this year than previous years and I think the drought we had over the summer is the culprit there. Like I always say, if I could control the weather this job would be easy! We will hopefully be getting some onion sets in the ground very soon, and we are starting to see just a few blooms on strawberry plants so hang in there with us and I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
