Hello!
Coming up--the last week for outdoor transplanting, except for the continuous planting of herbs and lettuces. The last of the Brussels Sprouts are in, and I installed the drip irrigation for them in the heat of the day, last Friday afternoon. If I hadn't done that there would be no Brussels Sprouts crop!
Our Springport High School helpers are busy with vacation breaks; their summer is nearly half over! We start at 8:00 in the morning in order to escape the afternoon heat of late. Not one complaint so far, and we have a large enough rotation to cover the workload.
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, and the Allen Street Market after that. Thursday afternoon is Farm pick up. Saturday we are in Grand Ledge for the Market on the Grand, 9-1:00. I should have a few tomatoes by then, although they are not on the weekly menu yet. I hope to see you soon!
.
Thank you,
Mark Kastner
