The cooler nights should be here this coming week, and we will start our leafy greens for fall harvests. The extreme heat of late caused a germination failure in the Baby Lettuce rotation, so I moved the flats back to the basement for a consistent 60 degrees. The lettuce in the ground is fine and gets drip irrigated almost every day. Still, we will not be able to offer Baby Lettuce MIx for a couple more weeks!
The MIchigan Fruit crop is almost at its peak, and the summer fare of Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, is very tasty and appreciated. I picked two Cantaloupe Friday and they are amazing!I still have 6-8 weeks of seven work days per week, but I just love this work!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market on Michigan Avenue after that.Thursday Afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are in Grand Ledge at JC Park From 9:00-1:00..
Please see the attached menu and let me know if I can help. Ihope to see you soon!
Thank you,
