Tomorrow we are leaving Dallas as we head back home and prepare for the outdoor Farmers Markets and open field cropping and harvests. My thanks to Lauren and Jan for taking care of the farm business in our absence.The visit to see our twin 2 year old twin grandchildren is worth the effort, but not exactly restful!
The forecast is for below normal overnight temperatures later in the week. Lauren informed me that most of the indoor transplanting is complete, so we will focus on outdoor bed prepping as we await more favorable planting conditions, and summer crops!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street indoor Farmers Market later from 3;00 - 6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up and Saturday I am at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge, 11:00 - 12:00 noon.
The first outdoor Allen Street Farmers Market is a week from Wednesday, May 12, at the corner of Shepard Street and Michigan Avenue. The first outdoor Grand Ledge Farmers Market is May 22, at JC Park. I hope to see you soon!
