Good Morning!
Mid July is typically the beginning of our preparation for Autumn production, only this year the transition to new people is a little more urgent. Riley, our human planting machine leaves for school in 3 weeks, Lauren, my steady coworker leaves for Resident Hall Assistant training for 2 weeks and back for 10 days before starting her junior year at MSU. Alanna who harvests and packs most of your beautiful produce leaves for Spring Arbor in 5 weeks.Yikes!
Right now I am so busy with the summer season that I don't have time to dwell on how blessed we have been the last few years. I am fortunate to have part of Sunday afternoons to flesh out planning and training schedules. We have also added a talented young man, Barak, who will relieve me of the construction still needed for Winter production: completion of two medium tunnels and 2-3 low tunnels for over wintering our cold weather crops. Lauren and Alanna are helping me pass the baton to some new faces!
This week I am at the Family Fare Parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market Michigan Avenue at Fairview Street, after that, 2:30 - 6:30. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are at the Market on the Grand in Grand Ledge (JC Park), 9:00 - 1:00. Please see the attached menu and let me know if I can help.Yes we have a lot of tomatoes, but not enough to entertain preorders!
Thank you,
