The new Beehives arrived last week and the Bees were upset and not happy. The workers sent out "scouts", and spent about 3 hours buzzing me and checking me out. I passed the test and outlasted them, but they successfully chased my wife back into the house for the rest of the day!
The ups and downs of Spring weather are still with us, but this week we will be transplanting outdoors in earnest. Alanna will be back for a couple of weeks to help get me on track before leaving for a summer dream job as a camp counselor up north. Riley will be back to help clean up planting Summer plant flats before we start on Autumn production. Ever steady Jan will be extra help in general. Then in two weeks we have two new people with Springport connections to fill in for the Summer Harvests!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and Allen Street Farmers Market 2:30--6:30 after that. Thursday is farm pick up, and Saturday we are in Grand Ledge for the Market on the Grand, 9:00-1:00, on River Street. I hope to see you soon!
