We will have Tomatoes, Peppers, and Cucumbers available at the markets this week, but not listed online because of the strong demand. The forecast for lots of sunshine this week should speed up the ripening process!
All of our past student workers have some special value and fond memories of our time shared together. It is very satisfying to watch them mature and follow their life's journey! That said, it is a bitter-sweet farewell to our summer intern, Jessie. In 12 short weeks she took ownership of Hillcrest Farms and what we do here, and demonstrated some amazing talent in the process. Jessie shared the final written report to her Academic Advisor, and I am very humbled. She has one final semester at MSU before graduation with a degree in Sustainable Organic Horticulture and several related minors, and then watch out world!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and The Allen Street Farmer Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up and scheduled home delivery. Saturday we are at the Grand Ledge Farmers Market on River Street, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. I hope to see you soon!
