As overnight low temperatures cross paths with outside harvests we will narrow the items on the weekly menu, and move our focus inside. Ditto with the Allen Street Farmers Market as we move inside, this week, and adjust from 20+ feet of table space to 8 feet!
A few months ago,a professional photographer asked me if she could take pictures at Hillcrest Farms as part of a 1200 piece photo shoot for the Michigan Department of Education and the promotion of the 10 cents a meal grant program. I fully support the program that rewards the schools for buying fresh local produce for our kids. I strongly support nutrition in our schools and have been growing for a nearby school district for 6 years. I am humbled, yet imagine my surprise that Hillcrest Farms is in 2 of the four promotional posters designed by MDE!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the first indoor Allen Street Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and scheduled home delivery. Saturday I am in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge, 11:00-12:00 noon. I hope to see you soon!
