We are excited to begin the New year with our first CSA distribution for Winter/ Spring 2024. Yes, I said Spring! January is a little dicey anyway, as we transition from fresh greens that were transplanted last October and Storage crops to the new growth that comes in mid March. Today we are at 9 hours and 13 minutes of daylight, and photosynthesis for new growth starts at 10.0 hours, or about February 5th. Next week we begin planting in the incubator for "potting up" into the nursery into the first week in February!
We have a good number of new members this year and I am very gratified, thank you! Naturally there may be some hiccups along the way, so don't hesitate to reach out. If I cannot help you directly, I have a great account manager and seasoned support staff to help, and I will always contact you back!
I am still moving a little slow as I am almost recovered from a corrective surgery, but we'll be back on schedule as always. This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up and scheduled home deliveries, and Saturday I am at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge, 11:00-12:00 noon.If need be I'll clean up any mis--deliveries after that.
