Just Like most of you, I am running a little late mostly because of this Spring-like weather! There is no shortage of tasks at hand, as we will start garden transplants tomorrow, and Calendar Spring is less than 3 weeks away!
Horticulture Spring actually began in this area about February 5, and we are in the middle of seeding new crops and more flats for succession harvests. As I look over the nursery schedule it must be close to everybody's Spring; we start the very warm loving Cucumbers and Eggplants next week. I just love this job!
I cannot list Baby Lettuce Salad Mix, although I may bring a little to market. The Lettuce bed that I have in mind is pretty immature, but needs to go as we make way for some more aggressive early colder weather foods. This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot on Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I am at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery, 11:00-12:00 noon. Scheduled home deliveries will happen Saturday afternoon, unless other arrangements are made. I hope to see you soon, and thank you!
