April 15 is the perennial transplanting date for most of our summer fruiting crops like Tomatoes, some Peppers, and soon to follow, Cucumbers. Then comes the avalanche of new crops, plant sales, and deadlines for infrastructure repair, as Eva runs crazy trying to keep up. Brooklyn keeps us on top of our social media commitments, so I can get my work done, as our Summer Intern, Analyssia comes aboard in about 3 weeks! Thus we have two more weeks to scale up production, as my dear wife plans to visit our five year old twin grandkids in Dallas for a few days. Yikes! Oh, and the plant lists for the transplant sales coming up will be available by the week's end.
This week I am presenting at the CSA Fair in the Hannah Community Building in East Lansing on Sunday, April 5, 1:00-4:30. Some excellent Farmers will be there! Wednesday I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:30. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I am at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge 11:00-12:00 noon, and scheduled home deliveries are after that on Saturday afternoon.
