Moderate weather of late has given us a comfy cushion for the critical tasks still at hand. The inch of rain will allow us to finish planting Garlic this week. That makes two consecutive years that I've had the Garlic crop planted before November! We will still be transplanting Spinach, Lettuce, and other greens for two more weeks as we combine the Fall wrap up with infrastructure and maintenance and upgrades and repairs!
As the farming portion moves along, the related aspects of food distribution remain a challenge. For the CSA Members who are unable to auto renew, I will fill online distribution requests through December 21. I plan to move to another inventory platform after January 1, 2025 and we can all be back on board together. My newly assigned Harvie manager hasn't been very helpful with these new sign up issues. Please bear with me as we work through this process!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday, at 12:00 noon and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Saturday I will deliver Grand Ledge CSA Member orders and online order requests in the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery, 11:00-12:00 noon. Scheduled home deliveries will be completed on Saturday after 12:00 noon! Sunday I am in Valley Court for the East Lansing Farmers Market. 10:00-2:00 PM. Only 3 more outdoor markets at Allen Street, and 2 more in East Lansing. More on the Food Orders and distributions next Week! Thank you!
