2021 CSA Sign Ups!

Posted on January 28th, 2021 by Emily Tzeng
Hello and hope everyone is having a healthy winter. We are finally ready to launch our 2021 CSA sign ups! It will be operating on HARVIE, the same platform as last year. We are also excited to expand our CSA to 30 weeks from May- December this year as we have been able to invest in more infrastructure to make growing and washing veggies more comfortable during the winter.

We are happy to bring back our main Veggie share in large and small sizes, as well as the Flower share from Sweet Alyssum Farm. We will also be able to launch a limited number of pastured Egg shares again this year with our new partner farms Inch Acres and Bright Ide Acres. Both of these items will also be available for a la carte ordering, depending on availability.

Our pick up days and locations are largely the same, with a change in our Tacoma location.
Pick up on Thursday in Downtown Seattle and at our booth at the Queen Anne Farmers Market.
Pick up Friday on Farm in Puyallup out of our self serve cooler or pick up at our new partner location Field Bar and Bottle Shop in Tacoma! We are super excited to work with Brian at Field, especially because we think organically grown veggies and natural wine pair together so well.

Farm News and Updates:
This has been a different winter for me, as a farm and business owner. As many of you know, most of the winter is usually spent dyeing and selling yarn from our flock at various fiber related events. With those events cancelled, I have been able to take significant (as in more than a week!) time off for the first time in 10 years! I knit a sweater! Read The New Yorker! Did Youtube  yoga! Farming at this scale is hard on the body and it's been nice to have a bit of rest. We are also finally starting on some much needed building projects, like our new barn that will serve as storage and our wash/pack facility. The sheep are enjoying the short winter days and are busy gestating their lambs. Lambing season begins mid March and we are looking forward to seeing a flock of bouncing lambs this spring.

Plant sales:
Looks like a lot of people are still very interested in gardening this year! We are excited to offer more plants for your garden again this spring. If you are interested in ordering plants, please reply back to this email with what type of plants you are interested in. Veggies? Flowers? Herbs? Dye Plants? We want to grow what you want!

Thank you for your interest in our farm and CSA! We are already getting busy finishing up our crop plans, seed orders, doing tractor maintenance, fixing stuff that broke last year, and building more greenhouses! Your support now makes it possible to get everything in place for the season to begin and will allow us to pay our crew $15/hour from the start of the season! We hope everyone continues to stay well through this year and we are so looking forward to growing your food for you this year.
