Hello, May!

Posted on May 7th, 2020 by Justina Soltys

Dear Spoon Full Farm Family,

Goodbye, April! Hello, May!

The farm has been buzzing with energy (quite literally). We received our bees for the season (and over 100 beehives!) earlier this week. This year we decided to move our bees closer to the garden and their newly seeded bee pasture. Our newly seeded bee pasture will provide the bees with even more delicious food sources and help sustain our native bee population. Like the bees, we've also been buzzing around the farm seeding, watering, and transplanting. Yesterday was spent in dance, as it rained heavily for periods of time (very unlike the east end of the cascades), from hiding indoors doing office work to swiftly stealing moments when the rain stopped to do daily outdoor tasks, to hiding indoors again to escape the rain. Then the day ended with not only one, but with two rainbows - it was such a vibrant way to end the day.

A couple of things I'd like to share:

1. Sadly, Harvie experienced website failure while performing maintenance on their database server, which means their whole site went down last night and any changes that were made to the database (like my delivery). If you did receive an email yesterday, please disregard that customization email as it is no longer applicable. Make any swaps/add-ons through this email.

2.Important pick-up information regarding your CSA shares:

~Members who pick up their shares at glassybaby: your pick up window for your CSA share is from 12 p.m to 5 p.m. Similar to past weekends, one of our farmers will be at glassybaby for the entire pick-up duration to hand you your pre-packed share.

~Members who signed up for Capitol Hill pickups: As the Capitol Hill Farmers Market will NOT be opening this Sunday, you can choose to pick up your winter share at glassybaby madrona from 12-5 p.m, for no additional cost OR you can choose to have your share delivered straight to your home for a fee.

Please email me (Justina) at justina@spoonfullfarm.com to let me know which option you'd prefer. If you have selected home delivery through Harvie, or if you have already expressed to me which option you would prefer, you can ignore this request.

~Members who pick up at Bloom Juice/Mercer Island: Our pick-up window for Bloom Juice/Mercer Island has changed, and you can now pick up your CSA share from Bloom Juice/Mercer Island from 12:30 p.m - 5:00 p.m.

~Members who pick up on-farm (on Mondays): your pick up window for your CSA share is from 9 a.m to 5 p.m

As always, do not hesitate to email me, at justina@spoonfullfarm.com with any questions you have regarding your share.

Treat yourself and others with care, and kindness. May our grass-fed beef and pastured eggs bring you comfort, nourishment, and healing to you, friends.

Wishing you good health and much happiness,

Your Spoon Full Farmers
