We're just getting started with our CSA season, but that doesn't mean we are short of work! We have welcomed new and returning workers to the farm and all of our hands are full! This week, we'll be harvesting our first carrots of 2021, just in time too, as we finished up the last of our 2020 carrots last week! We're impressed with how well our carrots have stored, but we sure are excited about fresh spring carrot bunches. When you get your bunch, be sure to use up those delicious carrot tops in a pesto! Although we won't have arugula available this week, we will have some beautiful mizuna to add to your order. Mizuna is a mild Japanese mustard green that is perfect as a salad or tossed into a stir fry. Common Ground kale and kohlrabi will also be making their way into orders this week. If you've never tried kohlrabi, you are in for a real treat!
From Pfennings this week, we have celery, broccoli, Roma tomatoes, oranges, fuji apples and bananas. We'll have asparagus form Mazak's and Orchard Hill, as well as rhubarb from Orchard Hill.
